best of break

So Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks were uh months ago.
But here are some of the memorable things that happened!
Way back when it was time to get our tree... I do the most work :)
I helped hang the lights because my dad broke his toe
and has been in a boot since the snow storm Halloween weekend.
A little extra??! We think so too.
I turned 21!!!!!!!!!!!! I already posted about that here.
Christmas Eve with my family :)
My big Christmas present from my family:
Nick took me to NYC and Hoboken to see all my favorite sites :)
This post and this one explain why Carlo's was a must on this trip!

But the best part of break was having my brother home!!
Miss you Jared - see you soon wingman; love you!

hello sunshine

Today is February 1st and it is currently 66 degrees here. That means that the weather is gorgeous and perfect out! Yesterday I took 3 kiddos to the park for a picnic since it was so warm outside, and today I rode with my car windows down, my movie star shades on, country music blasting over the radio while my blonde hair whipped around in the wind. Perfection. Get up. Get outside. And get some sunshine in those veins and blonde in your hair.

Nicholas and I were on the beach enjoy 60 degree weather on New Years Day in Fenwick, Delaware! I guess that means it was a little prediction of what was to come. Hey, I'm not complaining :) I can always use a more blonde!

back to the grind

This is my dad's favorite quote after breaks
when everyone is getting back into a schedule.
"Well Kels, tomorrow you are back to the grind!"
I was at a preschool for the past 2 week for a class
- aka teaching, observing, and playing with 4 year olds.
(Oh did I mention cleaning up throw up and peed in pants.)
It was so much fun though! The kids hated to see me leave :(
It was a very sad day - I miss everyone of them already.

But that was more fun than it was work or class.
So today I head back to my apartment for my first day
              tomorrow as a SENIORRR!!!!!!

So it's back to the grind: class, work, babysit, homework.
18 credits part of the semester and 21 credits for the other part.
Oh plus 20 hours of work (Admissions plus babysitting) each week
and then homework. Its about to get really interesting really fast!

I start this year with an apartment, 2 amazing jobs, and a full school load.
Summer is going to be packed with class and teaching as well.
And then in the fall I start my final semester of classes before student teaching.
Yay for senior year though :) I can't believe this is going by so fast.
College has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life!

Oh and don't worry - more about my amazing break in future post :)
I'm saving that for a raining day when I'm missing 1pm wake up calls,
1am runs to Wawa, and not worrying about anything but answering the
who, what, where and when questions every night haha!

Boo-Yah.

commitments

Happy New Year!
It's officially the year the world "will end."
2012 Commitments.
[I hate the word resolution.]

I hate how everyone is suppose to come up with resolutions,
and even though I hate it - I still do it because I always want to.
So this year since I did 21 things I decided to go lighter on the commitments.
I wanted to pick 5 things to really commit to because 2+0+1+2=5.

I wanted to do things this year that will become habits and roll into other years.
But make the commitments more realistic and less idealistic like years before.
I wanted to make some resolutions that really required hardcore commitment.
So drum roll please....

1. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
I want to do my part in going green.
I also don't want to spend an arm
and a leg in this new apartment.

2. Stop tailgating.
Some would think I was from Jersey...
nope I just have a need for speed and
it bugs me when people drive slow.
But I need to work on my tailgating.

3. Be healthy at least 70% of the time.
It's hard to do it constantly so
I aim to change enough of my habits
so that I'm healthy at least 70% of the time.
Therefore exercising and eating will be strict
but not insanely strict like before.

4. Be more patient.
I have high expectation of people and
become frustrated when I'm let down.
I'm working on it but this year I really
need to learn to be more patient and gracious.

5. Put Him first.
We all do it - put people above God.
It's a natural thing to do but a very empty one.
So I want to work on always putting God first,
and running to Him first before others.
People always let me down - but He never will.

Well peeps..there you have it!
Now what are your resolutions?!
